If you live in Bangalore, you know S.P. Road. It is the place where you go to fix a laptop, buy a new graphics card, or hunt for that one specific cable you can’t find anywhere else. It is usually crowded, dusty, and strictly business. But from September 25 to October 25, 2025, something magical happened. The Bangalore Electronic Dealers Association (BEDA) decided to turn this busy street into a massive festival—the SP Road Habba 2025.
While BEDA brought the deals and the bumper prizes like cars and scooters, we at Talentworld brought the soul. We brought the entertainment. For a whole month, we turned a shopping street into a carnival.
What Is SP Road Habba and Why It Matters
S.P. Road, also known as Sadar Patrappa Road, is the heart of Bangalore’s electronics market. From resistors to routers, laptops to LEDs, this street runs on circuits and commerce.
SP Road Habba is the market’s annual flagship festival.
Its goals are clear:
- Boost festive-season sales
- Attract new shoppers
- Reward customers with prizes
- Create a joyful public atmosphere
In 2025, the scale was bigger than ever.
SP Road Habba 2025: The Big Picture

Organised by BEDA, the 2025 edition ran for one full month, aligning with the Diwali shopping season.
Key Highlights
- Dates: September 25 to October 25, 2025
- Bumper Prize: A car
- Weekly Prizes: Scooters and other gifts
- Sponsors: SanDisk, Canon, Zebra, and more
- Footfall: Massive, consistent, and growing every weekend
But here’s the key insight.
People don’t come back every weekend just for discounts.
They come back for energy.
The Challenge of Entertaining a Moving Crowd
Organizing entertainment for a corporate hall is one thing. The audience is seated. They are looking at the stage. But organizing entertainment for a busy street like S.P. Road? That takes a special kind of expertise. The crowd here is constantly moving. They are carrying heavy boxes. They are haggling over prices.

To capture their attention, you need something loud, colourful, and visually stunning.
This was the challenge taken up by Uday Kanathur, the founder of Talentworld.
He didn’t just book a few artists and leave. He curated a specific mix of performances designed to stop people in their tracks.
For every weekend of the month-long festival, Uday ensured there was a fresh reason for shoppers to smile.
A Cultural Cocktail: Tradition Meets Technology
S.P. Road is the heart of Bangalore’s tech trade. But Bangalore is also deeply rooted in culture. Uday understood this psychological connection. He knew that to connect with the local shoppers, we needed to touch their roots.
So, we organized Yakshagana performances.
Seeing the vibrant costumes and hearing the drum beats amidst the shops selling motherboards was a surreal experience.
It reminded everyone that while we move towards the future with technology, our culture keeps us grounded.
We also brought in a classical Bharatanatyam team.

The grace of the dancers provided a beautiful contrast to the hustle and bustle of the market.
It gave the shoppers a moment of peace and beauty in their busy day.
The Carnival Vibe: Stilt Walkers and Mirror Men
While tradition is great, a “Habba” (Festival) needs excitement. It needs to feel like a party. To achieve this, Talentworld deployed carnival acts.
We had stilt walkers towering over the crowd. This was a strategic move. In a crowded street, you can’t always see a stage. But you can definitely see a ten-foot-tall colourful character walking around! It created curiosity. People from the end of the street would walk closer just to see what was happening.

We also introduced the Mirror Man. This artist, covered in reflective glass, was a selfie magnet. In the age of Instagram, if your event isn’t being photographed, it isn’t happening. Shoppers loved taking photos with the Mirror Man, and every photo shared was free publicity for the SP Road Habba.
Star Power and Cinema Magic
Bangalore loves its movies. We know that nothing pulls a crowd faster than the beat of a popular film song.
Uday organized energetic film dance teams to perform on the weekends. The energy was infectious.
Shoppers would put down their bags and clap along.
To add a touch of glamour, we also brought in Star Look-alike dancers.
It created a buzz of excitement. “Is that really him?” people would ask.
It added a layer of fun and surprise to the shopping experience.
This variety is what Talentworld specializes in. We don’t just stick to one genre. We read the crowd and give them what they enjoy.
Uday Kanathur: The Manager Who Takes the Mic
Managing this many diverse artists over a month is a logistical nightmare for most. You have to coordinate timings. You have to manage green rooms in a crowded market. You have to handle sound systems amidst the street noise.
But Uday Kanathur is a veteran. With over 27 years of experience, he handled the coordination flawlessly. But he didn’t just manage. He performed.
Uday is a firm believer that an event manager should lead from the front.
He took the mic as the emcee, guiding the flow of the event.
He performed his signature mimicry acts, imitating famous voices and making the tired shoppers laugh.
He performed magic tricks, engaging directly with the crowd.
When the organizer is also an entertainer, the energy is different. There is a personal connection. He could sense when the crowd energy was dipping and would instantly jump in with a joke or a trick to lift the mood.
Why Entertainment Boosts Business
You might ask, “Why do we need dancers and magicians at an electronics sale?”
The answer lies in consumer psychology.
Shopping can be stressful, especially when you are comparing prices and features.
Decision fatigue sets in.
Entertainment acts as a palate cleanser for the brain.
When a shopper laughs at a mimicry act or marvels at a magic trick, their stress hormones go down.
They feel happier.
And happy people are more likely to make a purchase.
They associate that positive feeling with the location—in this case, S.P. Road.
By making the environment festive, BEDA and Talentworld ensured that people didn’t just come to buy a gadget; they came to spend the day.
This increases the “dwell time” in the market, which is gold for retailers.
Final Thoughts: A Habba Done Right
SP Road Habba 2025 was not just a shopping festival.
It was a shared city experience.
And Talentworld, with Uday Kanathur at the helm, played a crucial role in making that experience vibrant, inclusive, and unforgettable.
